BUCS round-up

UCLan Rams are one win away from claiming the BUCS American Football North West title after a hard fought victory against Manchester Tyrants.

Rams defeated the Tyrants 19-14 and now face Tarannau Aberystwyth to decide who finishes top of the league.

Our Golf 1st team's hopes of retaining their Premier North crown are over after a disappointing week. Defeats to Durham 1st & Northumbria 1st and a 3-3 draw at Birmingham 1st sealed their fate.

The 2nd team won 4.5-1.5 at home to York 1st and 6-0 at Leeds Beckett Carnegie 1st, while our 3rd team also defeated Leeds 5.5-0.5. Victory for our 2nd team against the 3rd team in their final game will see them clinch the Northern D1A title.

Women's Football 1st need just one point from their final two games to secure promotion after winning 4-1 at Edge Hill 1st. Men's 1st won 4-2 at Manchester 2nd, but our 2nd & 3rd teams were beaten by Manchester Met 3rd & 4th respectively. The 5th team remain unbeaten after an 11-1 win at home to Glyndwr 2nd.

Men's Hockey 1st still lead Northern D3A after a 3-2 success at Liverpool 2nd. Women's 1st won 2-0 at home to Chester 1st and our 2nd team triumphed 10-1 at Chester (Warrington) 1st.

Men's Rugby Union 1st lost 26-0 at Keele 1st, but the 2nd team are still unbeaten after a 65-0 victory at Chester (Warrington) 1st. Our Women's 1st team also retained their 100% record with a 60-7 win at home to Chester 1st.

Men's Basketball 2nd won 116-34 at LJMU 2nd, but our Women's 1st team lost 74-15 at Liverpool 1st. Women's Netball 2nd lost 63-21 at Liverpool 3rd.

Men's Badminton 1st fell 5-3 at Bangor 1st, but our 2nd team remain on course for promotion from Northern D4A after a 6-2 win at home to Cumbria 1st.

Men's Tennis 1st are top of Northern D2A after and 8-4 win at home to Livepool 2nd. Women's 1st lost 8-4 against Manchester Met 1st.

Men's Lacrosse 1st lost 10-3 at Manchester 2nd, but Men's Volleyball 1st enjoyed a successful week with victories against Edge Hill 1st (twice), Salford 1st & Bangor 1st.
